This comes in a few weeks after the trip, but none the less I am starting to write it out. Ironically while in a tire shop waiting on new tires and an episode of Ancient Aliens on the TV in the background. Each year we go out with my significant others family, down to a lake a few hours from home. To spend time boating, fishing and overall enjoying a break away.
Getting away from it “All” gives us perspective of different aspects of life that we would not normally have seen, experienced or even contemplated. As I start a new journey into a new blog and working to stay consistent, this trip left no other options then to be a different perspective.

Morning Fishing hits different
As we were doing our normal fishing activity, I couldn’t help but notice the breath of the wild. The atmosphere, in its infinite density and the spectral force that made its way through the trees; moving their branches and leaves from this invisible force.
A thought struck me, I was witnessing the breath of the wild, not like the Zelda game… or maybe exactly like that? The spirit of the forest is moving, changing and becoming dynamic. The constant changes have infinite direct and indirect effects.
Animism and Philosophy
I have been studying the concept of animism lately, and while I’m very new to the philosophy. I could easily understand why the concept evolved. Imagine in the distance rustling in the trees. The branches moving like in Jurassic Park 2, the T-Rex making its way through the jungle.
Instantly the thought of a “living” entity, as the nameless spirit broke the threshold of the forest, the water slightly moved, dissipating on the vastness of the lake. Only to return me to my senses as a breeze on my face, a touch of spirit from the imaginal or etheric.
I couldn’t really dig in deeper at that time, but my thoughts would be recaptured over the coming days.
I witnessed first-hand the birth of the morning through an alchemical process.

The coolness of dawn
Unlike the year prior, this year was warmer. Early mornings were comfortable, light jacket weather. It was beautiful. If you have never been out on the boat at dawn, I encourage you to find time and access to do so. It is a refreshing perspective that I am grateful for each time. In the middle of the lake, suns warmth releasing the spirit of the water as morning fog on the surface.
We started to fish on the glassy water, the wind was blowing but the water was calm. The Spirits of the deep were asleep, ready to wake from their slumber. During this process it became apparent that I was not witnessing water interacting with air and heat. I was watching the birth of the morning through an alchemical process, a process routinely done by the chaotic, yet organized elementals and spirits of the area.
Nature springs forth from solitude
As the day progressed, the spirits awakened and the area came to life. The breath of the wild returned to the trees, the animals sang and spoke with one another. The fish fed and spirits of the lake stirred as the waves picked up, people began boating and the life revved up. Making for an exciting beautiful day.

Unsure of what to make of all this still, and without prompting or invoking it came to me when coming into the dock. On the shore, 50 yards away a Doe and her Fawn were grazing. The fawn feeding from the mother, walking among the bank, hanging out enjoying the setting sun.
Tranquil, simple existence. They pulled together the whole picture for me, the spirits of the forest personified. The chaotic alchemy of everything around us, came together to create these “real” things around us from atomic stardust. The absolute miracle and improbable existence we live it is alive on every level and I was privileged enough to see through the veil and the cogs behind it. Even though I still have trouble understanding this concept and significance. I have felt something special about seeing what words have trouble describing.
